Appeal against decision of NZOC – non-selection – AM appealed decision of NZOC to not select him to compete at the Tokyo Olympic Games – urgent hearing held and decision advised same day with reasons to follow – urgency due to requirement to confirm quota spot with Badminton World Federation – AM appealed NZOC failure to properly follow and / or implement selection criteria – NZOC said AM failed to satisfy criteria – assessment of his results and performances during qualification period failed to demonstrate he was capable of a top 16 placing – ineligible to be selected – Tribunal satisfied NZOC decision lawful and reasonable – NZOC clear selection framework – Tribunal dismissed appeal
