New Amended Rules of the Sports Tribunal came into force on 17 April 2009

The Sports Tribunal has adopted amendments to the Rules of the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand. The amended Rules came into force on 17 April 2009. They replace the previous Rules adopted on 2 July 2007. These amended Rules apply to all proceedings, appeals or matters over which the Tribunal has jurisdiction.

The amended Rules apply to all proceedings commenced with the Tribunal from 17 April 2009 onwards. Any proceedings commenced with the Tribunal before 17 April will be dealt with under the previous Rules of the Tribunal.

Rules of the Sports Tribunal of New Zealand are made pursuant to s 39 of the Sports Anti-Doping Act 2006. These Rules set out how the Tribunal determines disputes.

The new Rules also contain the required Forms by which the parties commence proceedings with the Tribunal and file various documents. These Forms are also able to be individually downloaded from this website.
